Refunds & cancellations
These terms apply to paid audit and assurance engagements with Bridgepoint Fintech Assurance. They do not describe product returns or shipping — we do not sell physical goods through this site.
Eligibility overview
Fees relate to professional time reserved and work performed under a letter of engagement. Refunds depend on how far the engagement has progressed and whether costs (travel, specialist support) have already been incurred.
Deposit
A typical engagement requires a 30% deposit on signature. The deposit reserves partner and auditor calendar time for the agreed fieldwork window.
Cancellation by the client
- More than 14 days before fieldwork start: Deposit refunded minus any non-recoverable third-party costs already approved in writing (for example prepaid travel).
- 7–14 days before fieldwork start: 50% of the deposit may be retained to cover preparation and displaced calendar time; the remainder is refunded.
- Fewer than 7 days before fieldwork start, or after evidence intake has begun: Deposit is non-refundable. Work already performed is invoiced at the agreed rates and deducted from any balance credit.
Cancellation by Bridgepoint
If we must cancel due to conflict of interest, illness without available cover, or force majeure, you may choose a rescheduled window or a full refund of amounts paid for work not delivered.
Rescheduling
One reschedule with at least 10 days’ notice is available without fee, subject to calendar availability. Further moves may incur a rescheduling charge of up to 10% of the engagement fee to cover re-planning.
No-shows
If nominated control owners miss agreed walkthrough slots without 24 hours’ notice, we may charge for the reserved half-day and extend the delivery date.
Work already started
Time spent on evidence review, sampling, draft findings, and workshops is billable. Partial refunds of the balance fee (not already earned) are considered only when cancellation occurs mid-engagement and unused phases can be clearly isolated.
Non-refundable items
Pre-approved travel and lodging, external translation of workpapers commissioned at your request, and filed memorandum copies already delivered are non-refundable.
Refund process & timing
Email hello@smartwebconnect.digital with your engagement reference and reason. We confirm eligibility within five business days. Approved refunds are returned by the original payment method within 14 business days of approval.
Examination-driven urgency
Compressed engagements booked inside an examination notice window may carry a non-refundable deposit stated in the letter of engagement, because calendar displacement cannot be recovered.
