Preparing control owners for a Taiwan fintech examination

A practical briefing for compliance and treasury leads who will sit across from supervisors — without rehearsed scripts that collapse under detail.

Two colleagues discussing papers in a meeting room

Taiwan fintech examinations put named people across the table from supervisors. The quality of those conversations depends less on polished slides and more on whether control owners can retrieve a specific reconciliation, exception log, or board minute without improvising.

Brief, do not script

Rehearsed answers that collapse under a follow-up question damage credibility faster than a candid “I will retrieve that schedule.” We prepare owners with the evidence trail for their control — who runs it, what system of record holds it, what last month’s exceptions looked like — and stop short of memorised paragraphs.

Roles that need distinct prep

Treasury owners should expect questions on safeguarding bank letters and same-day close. Compliance owners should expect questions on policy version control and breach registers. Operations owners should expect questions on customer file retrieval and complaint handoffs. Mixing those briefs creates confident confusion.

What we run in a readiness assessment

Our pre-examination readiness work includes a timed document-trail dry run and a short interview rehearsal. Gaps go into a board-facing register with owners and dates. The aim is a calm examination week, not a theatre performance.
